About the Author

The author’s journey of self-discovery spans seven decades, from his early life in Windsor, Canada, through loss, adversity, and personal growth. He navigated world events such as the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War, finding comfort in music from Motown and iconic concerts like Woodstock. Professionally, he embraced pharmacy, guided by scientific principles, but also faced deep trauma, with diagnoses of general anxiety disorder, PTSD, and autism later in life. His challenges include the grief of losing a son after his declaration as a transgender woman and the passing of his second daughter to cancer. Living with COPD and chronic pain, he continues to endure alongside his wife, who suffers from fibromyalgia. Despite these hardships, his story is one of resilience, spirituality, and the celebration of “otherness.” Through it all, he reflects on life’s complexities with a sense of acceptance and fulfillment.
